Eagles Foundation Rallies to Offer Support

The incident at Block F, Pangsapuri Angsana, Taman Subang Mewah, USJ 1, Subang Jaya, at 3am on 16 May 2018 damaged several flats and facilities and the heat from the fire damaged the walls and ceilings of nearby business premises.

Around 480 families were affected in this devastating blaze leaving them without water and electricity. This unfortunate event also displaced the inhabitants of 25 units leaving 70 residents homeless.

The emotional impact of the fire had left many of them wondering how they were going to cope with their daily lives and complete the “Fasting Period” of the Holy month of Ramadan.

On 18 May 2018, following an appeal from Pusat Khidmat DUN Subang Jaya, Eagles Foundation coordinated a small team of volunteers comprising Chan Thit Meng, Tan Chin Chin and Tabitha@Kuna. They purchased and delivered approximately RM2,300 worth of packet drinks, coffee, tea, Milo, biscuits and cup noodles for the displaced residents.

Tan Chin Chin said, “The whole community has come out to help the residents. People are bringing things, and then staying to help sort them. The outpouring of support has touched people whose worlds had been shaken deeply. We are glad that Eagles Foundation could be a part of the caring community in Subang Jaya.”
